Advanced Wound Care – Background
Chronic wounds are those sores or ulcers that won’t heal – and can take a tremendous toll on a person’s health. In the United States, chronic leg and foot ulcers affect an estimated 2.4–4.5 million people and often last for months, with up to 70% of patients seeing them return after traditional treatments (1). These non-healing wounds cause pain, limit mobility, and greatly reduce quality of life (2). They predominantly affect older adults and people with conditions like diabetes or poor circulation. Without proper care, chronic wounds can lead to serious infections or even amputations – for example, one in four diabetics will develop a foot ulcer, contributing to 73,000 amputations in the U.S. each year (3). This is why specialized wound care matters: by addressing chronic wounds with expertise and advanced treatments, we can relieve suffering, restore health, and could prevent life-altering complications.

Do you accept my insurance?
We accept most major insurance plans, particularly for senior patients affected with chronic wounds. You can check if your insurance is accepted by calling our office or by reviewing our list of accepted insurance providers on the website. If you’re unsure, our team is happy to assist you.
How do I become a patient or schedule a visit?
It’s easy to get started. You can call us directly or fill out the request form on our website — no referral is needed for your first appointment. We’ll begin with a full evaluation of your wound, and from there, we’ll build a treatment plan tailored just for you. If you’re already under the care of another provider, we’ll gladly coordinate with them to make your transition smooth.
Do I need a referral from my doctor?
No referral is necessary for new patients — you can contact us directly to schedule an initial consultation. However, we also work closely with doctors, hospitals, home health agencies, and other providers across the region. If your physician would like to refer you, we’re happy to coordinate care.
